I’ve had so much fun creating the Scottish raspberry Sunday kit combining both vintage style and the best of fillings and toppings from two excellent small businesses in Dumfries and Galloway. Making the kits took me back to my childhood holidays in Portsalon, Donegal on the west coast of Ireland. Peggy Coll’s ice cream bar was just heaven to visit and then to choose from all the best ice cream deserts on offer.
The Scottish part of the Raspberry Sundae Kit is the millionaire shortbread from a family run bakery in Castle Douglas. Then we have the toppings from Galloway Fudges’ wonderful range of fudge bars and macaroon bars. There is enough to make several ice cream deserts and I’ll be adding suggestions for more in later blogs.
